Ông Mình - Experiments
Throughout the Gateway course for the Minor in Writing, I worked through two experiment sequences deriving on an original digital diary entry I wrote about memories I collected over the years of my grandfather and I. These experiments have not only helped me develop my fully realized project, but also were a device for me to engage with different genres/themes of writing and challenge my limits as a writer in ways I never would have otherwise.
An elegy centered around the idea of grief and time, inspired by my original memory collection, dedicated to my grandfather. I was inspired by one of my favorite elegies, written by a student at Tufts University on their student magazine.
A photo essay inspired by my first experiment, now centering around the theme of familial love and cherished memories with my grandpa. I fell in love with photo essays through our class on the genre with professor Dave Karczynski.
My origin piece.
